Supported Decision Making - Framework and best practices

Everyone supporting people with decision making has influence, the question is how that influence is used.

This module will cover your obligations under the UNCRPD and best practices as well as gives you an evidence-based framework to assist and record the process.

It doesn't matter what area you work in or if you are a nominee or guardian (informal or formal), this course is essential to upholding the rights of all people who require assistance with decision making and ensuring you, know your responsibilities, how to document and reflect as well as compliance issues.  Substitute decision-makers rather than supportive decision-makers was a key concern of the Royal Commissions final report (Volume 6).  Denial of autonomy, equal access, choice and control will be a target now and, in the years, to come to reduce restrictive practices.
